SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP - Micro Pigmentation

This proceedure is not permanent and is not a tattoo,  it needs a retouch to finalise the proceedure as it is not a one off treatment and you may have this around  4-6 wks later to either lighten / darken or blend the colours as we need to check the shape and colour of the healed brow and take care of any adjustments as the oil in your skin sometimes pushes the pigment out in some clients and there are environmental factors why you will need a re-touch  This is NOT a correction this is normal. This re-touch takes place only when the skin has healed in the area treated.  We do from time to time have special offers for this proceedure so please call us on 02920226066   If however you have paid in full £350.00 we will waiver this re touch price and you may have this free. You may either pay for the retouch at your first appointment or when you have the re-touch.   We also ask clients to sign when leaving clinic that they are happy with the proceedure.

If you have had this treatment elsewhere at another clinic or beauty premises and are not happy,  we will ask you to sign if we have to correct this.

We do not give free re-touch treatments please respect our policy and do not embarrass our practitioners by asking for this free.

Before And After

What exactly is Semi- Permanent Makeup?

Semi Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialised techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as 'micro pigmentation', 'micro pigment implantation' or 'derma graphics'. The cosmetics implant technique deposits coloured pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis.

Which Technician should I choose?

Choose a Aesthetic Practitioner  who is experienced and fully qualified also .  Also a Practitioner in semi-permanent makeup, micro pigmentation and and has been performing these treatments for many years.  Also who is working in a clinic environment that is regulated and  licenced with their Local Council not just a mobile therapist who does not hold a licence to perform these treatments.

It is important to remember that the shape and proper placement of the procedure is as important as the right colour. The desired look is obtained during the course of consultation, initial procedure and follow up procedure. Interaction between client and technician should be of the utmost importance before proceeding with semi-permanent make-up. A test will be performed and a thorough consultation will take place.   You will be shown the client information booklet and many photos of semi permanent makeup, eyebrows, eyeliner, lipliner, full lip colour , cheek enhancement.   We also have CD players in operation for you to view.

Common Questions About Semi-Permanent Makeup

Do you need a test and consultations?

Yes, you do and we will ask you questions to see if you are suitable to have this procedure and you will be shown photographs and discuss your needs and we will help you deciding the shape and colour.  You must have a test 24hrs prior to the treatment.   We conduct a thorough consultation and if you have no contra- indications we will go ahead and perform the treatment If you want to waiver a test 24hrs prior to treatment we cannot do this.  But, we understand that some clients travel over 50 miles and have very busy lifestyles so if youdo not want to visit the clinic prior to the treatment 24hrs prior for the test.   We will ask you to sign a disclaimer to have the test and we will not be responsible if you have an allergyAlthough,  we will test the skin an hour or longer prior to the treatment

What does it feel like and is it painful?

You will have a topical anaesthetic to minimize discomfort; it does not hurt, but feels like a scratching sensation.

How long does it last?

But it starts fading from the moment you have the treatment and you want to freshen the colour after a year.

The pigment molecules can stay in the skin and last for a long period once you have had a retouch,  but this depends on the clients skin type, age, colour used and lifestyle. Usually Semi-permanent make-up lasts for some time, although it is not permanent it is semi permanent and this must be remembered when it fades.

Do I have a choice of colours?

This will be explained in detail. We do not use black colours, grey, blue or purple.  Unless client signs she is happy to go ahead knowing that the colour can change.  Black changes colour to grey or blue so it is best to avoid these colours. We use dark brown as the darkest colour.  Also, for cheek blush and lips we only use pinks, orange and light red colours. No browns will be used or dark colours.   You will have to look after your colour when you leave as direct sunlight can change the colour and if you use perfumed cream directly on the skin this will contribute to this.   Hormones can also change colours.   We will  work together and choose the shape and colour, this is very important, as many colours may have to be mixed together to achieve the best results.

How long does it take?

Approximately 1hr 30mins, for a new procedure. Aftercare what is the procedure? You may be slightly swollen and the colour a little darker. This does not last for long only a few days. Healing takes approximately 6 weeks then the true colour emerges. As it is a proceedure it is not the end result. you may need to have a  top -up to enhance the colour and make lighter or darker this is done after 4-6 weeks after the treatment.   This is a must with some proceedures or due to the clients skin tone.  You will be given advice on homecare and if needed you can phone for advice or any concerns you may have.

How dark will the enhancement be?

Immediately after the procedure the enhancement can be 30-70% darker than the desired result.

Retouch

Because semi permanent needs a re-touch after 4-6 weeks after the 1st treatment we emphasize this is not the end result.  You should have a retouch to either lighter, or make the area darker for the desired effect.   Please remember this is a proceedure not a treatment.

When do I need a colour boost treatment?

Colour boost procedures are advised 12-15 months after your refill or control procedure. This ensures the enhancement keeps its optimum quality. SPF 30 is recommended to prevent the enhancement from fading in the sun. The pigments are not permanent and will fade over time. One cannot guarantee the life of a procedure.

Aftercare

The quality of semi permanent makeup will depend on the proper aftercare which needs to be followed during healing period (two weeks).

For two weeks to avoid:

- prolonged contact with water

- swimming in the sea or swimming pool

- direct sunlight (use sunscreen total)

- using sunbeds

- saunas or steam rooms

- rubbing or scratching (causes uneven healing and infection)

- excessive physical exercise (transpiration)

- peeling or exfoliating products on the pigmented area

- wearing makeup – prevent infection

- medication can change the colour also

- extreme heat or cold

- do not apply make-up  especially to cover the area before the crust

has had to time to cover the area as this could change the colour especially

with the cheek area,  it is a larger area and needs to crust.  You will lose most of the

colour when the crust comes away from the skin and there will be only 20/30% of the colour

left.

Particularly the lips:

- take liquids through a straw for the first two days

- avoid hot drinks and spicy foods for four days

- avoid touching the lips

- avoid yawning too wide or exaggerated laughter

As in any process that produces a micro-wound, there may be some skin reactions to the treatment, which appear immediately or soon after the procedure and could last from 2-5 days:

- inflammatory reaction

- pain when pressing the area
